U9 makes early strides in the game a safe and positive experience, introducing new-comers to basic skills. Kids form friendships, develop self-confidence and experience personal achievement, all through fun and fair play.

Canadian hockey parents familiar with half-ice U9 games are fully behind the initiative because it promotes skill development, self-confidence, teamwork and fun.

U9 Hockey Program Philosophy

  • To have fun while playing hockey and engaging in physical activity.
  • To learn the fundamental skills required to play the game of hockey.
  • To develop and refine basic motor patterns.
  • To be introduced to the concepts of cooperation and fair play.
