2011 Esso Cup

A 2011 ESSO CUP WELCOME FROM OUR TITLE SPONSOR

Esso has been a proud sponsor of the great game of hockey since 1936. This tradition continues today with support and sponsorship of numerous programs at both the professional and amateur levels. These programs include the Esso Medals and Certificates of Achievement, which continue to recognize and reward sportsmanship, dedication and effort among young hockey players and the Esso Fun Days program, which supports the growth and development of women's hockey by introducing girls and adult women alike to the game.

Women's hockey has come a long way since 1889, when Isobel Gathorne-Hardy played in the first female game on record. Through our sponsorship of female hockey development programs and events such as the Esso Cup, Canada’s National Female Midget Championship, Esso is proud to continue to play a part in the phenomenal growth and success of women's hockey in this country.

On behalf of all employees of Imperial Oil and our Esso-branded retailers and associates across Canada, I would like to extend our best wishes to all the teams, players, parents, coaches, administrators and volunteers who have helped make the 2011 Esso Cup a success. We salute you.

Good luck, on the ice and in life!
