CANADA 8 – KAZAKHSTAN 0

Dion Phaneuf scored twice and Devan Dubnyk stopped all 22 shots he faced as the Canadians blanked Kazakhstan to remain in top spot in the Helsinki Group. Duncan Keith and Ryan Getzlaf added three assists each.


CANADA 5 – FINLAND 3

Evander Kane scored the game-winning goal six minutes into the third period as Canada erased 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to hand the Finns their first defeat of the Worlds and take over first place in the Helsinki Group.




CANADA 3 - SWITZERLAND 2
PRELIMINARY | WED. MAY 9

Ryan Getzlaf scored the game-winner with 12 minutes to go as Canada held on to first place in the Helsinki group with a victory over the Swiss. John Tavares and Jordan Eberle had the other goals for the Canadians.


CANADA 7 - FRANCE 2
PRELIMINARY | MON. MAY 7

Patrick Sharp scored once and added four assists and Jamie Benn and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had two goals and a helper apiece as Canada scored four times in the first 17:21 on its way to a win over the French.




CANADA 4 - UNITED STATES 5 (OT)
PRELIMINARY | SAT. MAY 5

Duncan Keith tied the game with 99 seconds to go, but a late delay of game penalty doomed the Canadians, who dropped an overtime decision to the U.S. Keith and John Tavares had a goal and assist each for Canada.


CANADA 3 – SLOVAKIA 2
PRELIMINARY | FRI. MAY 4

For the first time since 2009, Canada and Slovakia meet at the world championship as the Canadians open their quest for a 25th gold medal. Canada has lost just once to the Slovaks at Worlds, posting a 7-1-2 record.
