My Team Canada - Meaghan Mikkelson : 02/20/2009
Meaghan Mikkelson has good hockey bloodlines. Her father, Bill, played four seasons in the NHL in the early 1970s, while her brother, Brendan, a Memorial Cup champion with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants, is now toiling in the Anaheim Ducks’ system. Meaghan is making a name for herself, however, as one of the new faces on the blueline of Canada’s National Women’s Team. She played in her first IIHF World Women’s Championship in 2008 and is now vying for a spot on the team at the 2009 Worlds and 2010 Winter Olympics.

Goaltenders: It’s tough to pick only three of these goalies as they are all great. Marty Turco was tough to leave off. Carey Price and Cam Ward are great young goalies and were very tough to leave off that roster also. Luongo would be my No. 1 pick.
Defense: I think that with the seven defencemen I have picked, there is a good mix of offence and defence and also a good mix of young talent and veteran experience. These guys are all great defenseman. You can't go wrong with picking these seven.
Forwards: It’s so tough to pick 13 of these guys. Again, there are some great young guys mixed in with some veterans and a TON of talent. A lot of speed up front and some size also.
