2015 IIHF World Junior Championship

Frequently Asked Questions (Season Ticket Holders)

Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs Season Ticket Holders

Process Overview:
Hockey Canada and the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship host organizing committee have worked closely with both teams to ensure their season ticket holders (STHs) receive priority access to tickets for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. STHs have received front-of-the-line access to a limited inventory of tickets released by the event on a first come, first served basis. This process will take place prior to any other ticketing process for the 2015 and 2017 events. If you want tickets, don’t wait; buy now so you can ensure you have your tickets as this event has garnered a huge amount of interest every time it is hosted in Canada. STHs will have a limited window of time to access this priority offer.

Q: What do I receive with my ticket package?
A: Each ticket package comes with an exclusive souvenir lanyard and pouch, 2015 pin and event program. Each package will also be printed on a commemorative ticket stock. Package holders also receive the best price point on their tickets, a significant savings on the single-game ticket face value.

Q: What games are included in the respective city packages?
A: Toronto includes the following in 2015: one Team Canada pre-tournament game, 10 preliminary round games, two quarter-finals, two semifinals, two relegation round games ( a third relegation game will be played on January 5th if necessary), and the bronze medal and gold medal games.

Montreal includes the following in 2015: one Team Canada pre-tournament game, 10 preliminary round games, and two quarter-finals.

Q: What are the package price points for 2015?
A: Toronto (19 games)*
Platinum Rail – $2861
Platinum Side/End – $2301
Gold Side – $1746
Gold End – $1551
Red and Clubs – $1366
Blue & Green – $811
Purple & Standing Room – $626

A: Montreal (13 games)*
Platinum – $1946
Prestige – $1566
Lower Bowl Centre Ice – $1191
Lower Bowl End – $1056
Balcony A & B – $931
Upper Bowl White & Grey – $556
Blue, Molson Ex and Handicap – $431

* plus applicable fees for all packages

Q: Can I request a refund at a later date?
A: All 2015 purchases and 2017 deposits are non-refundable. Based on the amazing amount of interest in both IIHF World Junior Championships, the event will not be offering a refund option.

Q: How does the 2017 deposit work?
A: For a non-refundable deposit of $150 per package as part of the 2015 offer, STHs can guarantee the same seat in 2017 at the same single-game average prices as the 2015 package. The exact number of games will be finalized at a later date, however it can be noted that Canada’s National Junior Team will play its preliminary round games in Toronto and the medal round will be in Montreal in 2017, reversed from the 2015 tournament. The event will not be paying interest on these deposits. The $150 per package will be put directly towards your 2017 purchase.

Q: What if I don’t pay the 2017 deposit now?
A: The deposit is only an option to secure your seats and lock in pricing. We will go back to STHs again prior to any 2017 sales processes with a priority access offer. It will again be based on a limited quantity of tickets that will be released by the event. Pricing won’t be finalized until a later date, but there will definitely be an increase from 2015, so if you want to lock in pricing, the deposit is the best option today.

Q: If I am a Toronto Maple Leafs season ticket holder, can I access ticket packages in Montreal?
A: If you have interest in purchasing tickets in the other city from where you are a season ticket holder, please contact your account rep so they can deal with this on a case-by-case basis. At this time, the offer is just respective to your own city, however if inventory is available the event will review and consider other STH requests where possible.

Q: I can’t make all games within my package?
A: A variety of options will be made available for IIHF World Junior Championship customers to use all the tickets, including ticket resale via account manager, a ticket donation program, and the ability to electronically forward tickets from account manager. Full functionality will be made available closer to the start of the event. Ensuring there are great crowds for all games is a priority for the host organizing committee and it will work with ticket holders to ensure they know all their options to assist in achieving its goals.

Q: What are the dates of the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship?
A: The tournament will run from Dec. 26, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015.

Q: How will the games be split up in 2015 and 2017?
A: In 2015, Montreal will host the preliminary round group including Canada’s National Junior Team, as well as two quarter-finals, for a total of 12 games. Toronto will host the other preliminary round group, plus two quarter-finals, the relegation series, fifth-place game, both semifinals and both medal games, for a total of 19 games.

Everything will be reversed in 2017 – Canada’s preliminary round group will play in Toronto, while Montreal will host the medal round, number of games in each market for 2017 will be finalized at a later date.

Q: Can I access more tickets then what I have been offered as a STH?
A: This is the only inventory being offered through STHs at this time. If plans change the event will communicate directly with STHs immediately.

Q: How can I volunteer for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship?
A: If you want to be a volunteer in Montreal or Toronto, email your information to [email protected]. As soon as registration information is available, it will be sent to you so you can begin the process. All volunteers will need to undergo a criminal record check as part of the registration/screening process.

Q: When will the game schedule be set for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship?
A: The tournament schedule will not be finalized until the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship in Malmö, Sweden, is complete. June 2014, following the IIHF Annual Congress, will be the latest date to have the schedule approved for the 2015 tournament.

Q: Which teams will compete at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship?
A: Teams will not be finalized until after the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship in Malmö, Sweden. The top nine teams from the 2014 tournament will be joined by the team that wins the Division I, Group A in 2014.

Q: When will the schedule and teams be set for the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship?
