Another competitive season in the Alberta Midget Hockey League finished with six teams within nine points of each other atop the standings, led by the Calgary Buffaloes and their 22-7-5 record, good for a five-point cushion over the North Division-winning Edmonton CAC Canadians. The Buffaloes paced the league with 147 goals, led by leading scorer Matthew Phillips, who ran away with the AMHL scoring title – his 73 points (33-40—73) were 21 better than any other player, and he was No. 2 in power play goals (eight) and shorthanded goals (four). At the other end of the rink, goaltenders Mike Barabash (10-6-2, 2.75, .906) and Nick Sanders (12-1-3, 2.56, .907) shared the load and helped Calgary allow the fewest goals in the AMHL (92).
