Canada Announces Roster Change for Canada/ Russia Super Series

TORONTO – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), announced a roster change for Team Canada for the upcoming Canada/Russia Super Series, which starts on August 27th in Ufa, Russia.

The QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts have informed Hockey Canada that forward Angelo Esposito (Montreal, QC/ Quebec, QMJHL) will not be able to attend due to an injury. Canada will proceed with a roster of 25 players, including three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 14 forwards.

The Canada/Russia Super Series, a one-time eight-game series featuring the best Under-20 players from Canada and Russia, will take place from August 27th to September 9th, with the first four games to be held in Russia, and the final four to be held in Canada.

The four Super Series games in Canada will be held in Winnipeg (September 4th), Saskatoon (September 5th), Red Deer (September 7th) and Vancouver (September 9th). All eight games, including the four games in Russia, will be broadcast by TSN/RDS and Rogers Sportsnet. Check your local listings for game times in your area.
