TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – DIEPPE COMMANDOS What a finish by the Dieppe Commandos. Six points out of first place with four games to go, the Commandos won all four – including two over the Woodstock Slammers – to pull even with the Slammers and earn the MHL regular season title. Dieppe and Woodstock finished with identical 36-10-2 records, but the Commandos went 4-2 against the Slammers to give them the deciding tie-breaker. Like so many other first-place teams, Dieppe was very good at both ends of the ice; the Commandos led league with 232 goals, and their 134 goals against were good for second, seven back of Woodstock. They also weren’t too shabby on special teams; Dieppe had the MHL’s best power play, with a 28% success rate, while its 85.3% on the penalty kill trailed only the Slammers (86.7%). Robbie Graham ran away with the MHL scoring title, finishing second in goals (41) and tied for the lead in assists (50), good for 91 points and a 14-point advantage over any other player. In goal, Marc Terriault saw the lion’s share of work, finishing in the top five in wins (fourth, 16), goals-against average (fifth, 2.80), save percentage (fourth, .908) and shutouts (third, two).
