TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – ST. JOHN’S MAPLE LEAFS
For the second consecutive season, the St. John’s Maple Leafs finished at the top of the Newfoundland & Labrador Major Midget Hockey League, running off 16 wins in a row to close their schedule and sit 13 points ahead of their cross-town rivals, the St. John’s Privateers. The Maple Leafs scored 153 goals in 32 games and allowed just 82, both league-bests, and iced three of the NLMMHL’s top five scorers – Kyle McGrath (24-35—59, first; 21-14—35, fourth; 18-16—34, fifth). Between the pipes, MacKenzie Janes and Joshua Langmead split the goaltending duties, with Janes’ 14 wins and 2.16 goals-against average pacing all NLMMHL netminders.
