CALGARY, Alberta – In partnership with Hockey North, Hockey Canada has announced it will host One for All, a celebration of women’s and girls’ hockey, from Feb. 15-18 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

Throughout the event, more than 300 girls and women are expected to participate in programming hosted by Hockey Canada and Hockey North, which will include an official opening ceremony, visits from Team Canada alumnae, two IIHF Global Girls’ Games, We Are Coaches clinics, Try Hockey events, on-ice skills and goaltender sessions, off-ice development presentations and much more.

“We are thrilled to host the inaugural One for All celebration in Yellowknife and partner with Hockey North to deliver four days of unforgettable events and programs for participants and families,” said Marin Hickox, vice-president of women’s and girls’ hockey for Hockey Canada. “Hockey is a sport that brings our communities together, and we cannot think of a more deserving city to celebrate the incredible girls and women that inspire our work each day.

“To ensure the participants and families will have memorable and barrier-free experiences, the events and programs during One for All will be offered at no cost, and we hope the initiative will inspire the next generation of girls to pursue a lifelong journey in the game and positively encourage women and girls in the community to engage or re-engage with sport for years to come.”

Team Canada alumnae Meghan Agosta and Cherie Piper will be participating in sessions throughout One for All, including a hot stove during a watch party with girls and their families for the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s Battle on Bay Street game between Toronto and Montreal on Friday night.

On Saturday, two U11 and two U13 girls’ teams will join thousands of hockey players around the world taking part in the IIHF Global Girls’ Game, which began in 2015 and connects girls representing more than 50 participating IIHF federations.

Free Try Hockey sessions will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday, in addition to an exhibition game on Sunday morning between Team Northwest Territories and Team Nunavut ahead of the 2024 Arctic Winter Games.

“Hockey North is very excited to host One for All in partnership with Hockey Canada, which will leave a legacy for participants and associations in our branch for years to come,” said Kyle Kugler, executive director of Hockey North. “We are grateful that Hockey Canada chose to organize this inaugural event in Yellowknife and look forward to the festivities throughout the community during One for All.”
