TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – MARKHAM WAXERS The Markham Waxers started and finished strong in the ETA, opening the season without a loss in 10 games, and closing on a 16-game unbeaten run. The Waxers finished with a 16-point cushion over Ajax/Pickering in the West Division while edging Clarington by four points in the overall standings. Markham was lights out as the host, fashioning a 13-0-3 record at Markham Village Arena. While the offence was good – the Waxers scored 126 goals, second-best in the ETA – the defence was even better; Markham allowed only 53 goals in 32 games, and gave up one goal or less 18 times.
