30 Hour 3 vs 3 Hockey Tournament Set to Assist
Hockey In Atlantic Canada
Saint John, NB – Coming off of the heels of the very successful 24 Hour Marathon Game, Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre is preparing to host another marathon type hockey event. The 30 Hour 3 vs. 3 Hockey Challenge will take place January 19-20, 2008 at the Rothesay Arena in Rothesay, New Brunswick. Proceeds from this event will be put back into hockey programming for the youth of Atlantic Canada and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit a charity to be announced in the near future.
“We are excited to once again host a unique event which will benefit the youth of our region,” stated Trevor Murphy, Manager of Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre. “This event, like the Marathon Game last year, will bring together hockey players from our region who share a passion for our great game and a commitment to the youth of Atlantic Canada.”
48 teams of three players will have the opportunity to participate in this unique event. The tournament will take place over 30 consecutive hours starting at 8:00am on Saturday, January 19 and finishing at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 20.
“We had a tremendous response from players, sponsors and the general public last year with our Marathon Game,” said Brad Taylor, Development Coordinator at Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre and Event Manager for the 30 Hour 3 vs. 3 Hockey Challenge. “We are looking forward to receiving the same positive feedback and support from everyone in our region who cares about our game and are looking to make a difference in the lives of our young people.”
