Canada's National Women's Team Advance to The 4 Nations Cup Championship Game
HAMEENLINNA, FINLAND – Team Canada will have the chance to defend their Four Nations Cup title as they advance to the championship game in Hameenlinna, Finland on Sunday, September 4 at 5pm (local) versus the USA.
Team Canada finished the round robin portion of the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. They defeated Sweden 3-1 in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday, then beat the USA 4-0 on Thursday, and were victorious today over Finland by a score of 6-1.
Team USA moves on to the championship game after a 2-1 round robin record. Canada and the USA will meet in the final for the fourth consecutive time. Canada defeated the USA 2-1 in the 2004 Four Nations Cup in Lake Placid, NY last November.
Canada will travel back to Canada on Monday, September 5. The players will return to their respective homes for a one week break before reporting back to Calgary to practice on September 12 at Father David Bauer Arena.
