Five Canadian all-star teams, four European teams and the U.S.A. club are scheduled to provide exciting competition in the international tournament that runs from December 28 to January 4 at Mile One Stadium in St. John's and the Glacier in Mount Pearl.
Rick Comerford, chair of special events for the organizing committee, has announced that the 20,000 square feet of the St. John's Convention Center will be utilized for "Fan Fest" which he describes as "an interesting and very worthwhile addition to the elite competition that it will accompany."

"Fan Fest will feature the Legends of Hockey display, the Team Canada Photo Collection, an assortment of displays commemorating the Toronto Maple Leafs history, and impressive memorabilia from the provincial hockey hall of fame in Corner Brook, including a black and white video."
Comerford promised "great enjoyment from interactive games such as Show Down and Shut Out from the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame and Toronto Maple Leaf games like Slap Shot, Puck, Mini-Rink and Table Hockey. It will all be popular." He went on to explain that using the latest technology and the support of Hockey Canada, there will be live connections to hockey personalities throughout Canada for discussions on issues of interest and importance to hockey.
