Hockey Canada, Ebay.Ca Offer Hockey Fans Chance to Win Game-Worn Items
CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada and ebay.ca will launch a special auction on Monday, December 14 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. Up for auction are items from the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa, Ont., as well as items from National Junior Team alumni.
Game-worn items up for auction include:

Patrice Cormier gloves – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
Patrice Cormier helmet – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
Patrice Cormier jersey – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
Chris DiDomenico helmet – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
Jordan Eberle jersey – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
Ryan Ellis jersey – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
Ryan Getzlaf jersey – 2008 IIHF World Championship
Milan Lucic jersey – 2009 National Men’s Team orientation camp
John Tavares jersey – 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship
The jerseys up for auction from the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship are Team Canada’s third jersey worn that year. Canada’s 2009 National Junior Team was the first team to wear the third jerseys, which include the word ‘CANADA’ written from bottom to top on the front of the jersey, next to an abstract version of the Maple Leaf.
Three of the players whose items will be auctioned off – Patrice Cormier, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Ellis – are currently attending Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp in Regina, Sask., in an attempt to win their second gold medal in a row and help Canada to its record sixth-consecutive gold medal.
All proceeds from the sale of these game-worn items will go to the Hockey Canada Foundation, to assist in the promotion of the game at the grassroots level.
The auction will last only five days, closing on December 18.
