Cassidy Carels added two goals and an assist, while Lauryn Keen scored a beauty and had two helpers, to help the Pembina Valley Hawks (West) fly to the top of the Esso Cup pack, including former champs the Thunder Bay Queens (Ontario), and claim their very first gold medal.

 

HALIFAX METRO 1 – EDMONTON 4
BRONZE | SAT. APR. 28

The Edmonton Thunder (Pacific) struck three times in the third, with Brett Campbell scoring two and assisting another in the final 20 minutes Saturday, to boost Edmonton to a 4-1 win over Halifax Metro Boston Pizza (Atlantic), and third Esso Cup medal in four years

SEMIFINAL | FRI. APR. 27

Michela Cava and Jessica Gazzola both notched two markers, while Brianna Iazzolino had two assists for Thunder Bay, all in the second period, to seal a 4-2 semifinal win over Halifax Metro – and score a chance for the Queens to reclaim their Esso Cup throne.
