BREANNA LANCELEVE WITH FOUR POINTS IN BIG WIN

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – With the score tied 2-2 after 40 minutes, Halifax scored three goals in the final frame to earn the victory. Breanna Lanceleve (Sackville, N.S.) finished the night with two goals and two assists. Fans in Charlottetown were disappointed to see the host team lose a second game. Rebecca Weagle (Lunenburg, N.S.) made 28 saves for the win.

Halifax started the game strong and had many good scoring chances, but Emma MacKinnon (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) held strong in the P.E.I. net. Lanceleve was the first player to solve Mackinnon. Teammate Amanda Volcko (Halifax, N.S.) found Lanceleve open and she capitalized to make it 1-0.

Early in the second period, Halifax doubled it up.  Lanceleve showed her goal scoring skills to beat MacKinnon. Inspired by the loud hometown crowd, the Cyclones from Charlottetown answered with two goals to even things at two. Maggie Grimmer (Sherwood, P.E.I.) and Emma Martin (Charlottetown,P.E.I.) tallied for the local side.

In the third period, Halifax scored three goals to take the victory. Lanceleve added two assists  to finish with four points. Goaltender MacKinnon had a great game for Charlottetown with 29 saves despite the loss.
