TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – CENTRAL ICE PAK
After years of domination by St. John’s teams, the Ice Pak made it back-to-back regular season championships for teams from outside of the provincial capital, losing only three games in regulation time and edging out the St. John’s Maple Leafs by four points for top spot. Central ran off three winning streaks of at least three games, including a six-game run at the end of the season that helped it clinch first place. The Ice Pak were middle of the pack in scoring, finishing third in the five-team league with 103 goals in 24 games, although forward Jordan Maher did win the NLMMHL scoring title, leading the league with 23 goals and 47 points. Noah Weir backstopped a defence that tied for the league lead with just 73 goals allowed; he led all NLMMHL goaltenders with a 2.34 goals-against average and two shutouts, and his nine wins were good for second.
