TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – KANATA LASERS
Defending HEO champions, the Kanata Lasers added a regular-season title to their trophy case by holding off the Ottawa Jr. Senators by a single point. The Lasers started fast, posting a 7-1-1 record in September, were pretty darn good in the middle, going 12-2-1 in December and January, and finished strong, winning their last five to keep the Jr. Senators at bay. Kanata was led by its offence, which scored a league-best 160 goals, 28 of which came from Jack Quinn, who finished No. 2 in the HEO scoring race. In total, four Lasers cracked the top seven. The Kanata defence was no slouch, finishing third with 104 goals against, and goaltender Jean-Philippe Tourigny led the league with 19 wins while posting one of just six goals-against average under 2.00 (he was sixth-best at 1.99).
