Team Canada 2008 Spengler Cup Ebay Auction Begins Monday, February 4th
CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada has again teamed up with eBay Canada to offer game-worn Team Canada jerseys from the 2008 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland.
Hockey fans across Canada and around the world have the opportunity to bid on game-worn red jerseys from Canada’s game against HC Davos on December 27th and the championship game against Salavat Yulaev Ufa on December 31st. Canada wore the same jerseys in both games, and those will be the jerseys auctioned off.
Canada won their 10th Spengler Cup championship with a 2-1 win over Salavat Yulaev Ufa on December 31st.
The auction will run at www.ebay.ca and www.hockeycanada.ca beginning Monday, February 4th for 10 days, ending on Thursday, February 14th.
These eBay items are one of a kind and game worn by members of Canada’s National Men’s Team, and all items come with a letter of authenticity from Hockey Canada.
Among the jerseys that hockey fans have a chance to win via the auction are those of goaltender Curtis Joseph, Canadian captain Serge Aubin, and championship game hero Ryan Keller, who scored the game-winning goal.
Net proceeds raised through this 2008 Spengler Cup auction go to Hockey Canada, to assist with the funding of national development programs, national teams and Hockey Canada initiatives that promote the sport at the grassroots level.
