Gillian Ferrari scored once and added two assists as Red earned a split of the intersquad games with a 13-10 win over White on Friday. Sarah Vaillancourt finished with a goal and assist in the win.

Carla MacLeod and Meaghan Mikkelson scored in the pre-game shootout to help White to an 11-9 win over Red on Thursday. Gillian Apps and Jayna Hefford had a goal and assist each in the win.

Seventeen-year-olds Brianne Jenner and Marie-Philip Poulin combined for three goals as Canada earned a 4-2 win over the Red Deer Optimist Rebels on Wednesday night at Red Deer Arena.

HOPEFULS GATHER IN CALGARY

Twenty-four of the country’s top women’s players will be in Calgary from January 25-30 for Canada’s National Women’s Team January training camp. The camp will be the final time players are together before the roster for 2009 IIHF World Women’s Championship is announced in early March. » more

 

DAVIDSON TO LEAD CANADA
FOR NEXT TWO SEASONS

Melody Davidson has been announced as the head coach of Canada’s National Women’s Team for the next two seasons, including the 2009 IIHF World Women’s Championship in Finland and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Davidson coached Canada to Olympic gold in 2006 in Turin, Italy. » more
