Goaltender Paul Rosen (Thornhill, ON) turned aside all 10 shots he faced, including a pair of second period breakaways with the game still scoreless, to lead Canada to a 2-0 win over the USA in the final game of a three-game exhibition series on Sunday morning in Park City, Utah.

Canada’s top line of Bradley Bowden (Orton, ON), Billy Bridges (Summerside, PE) and Greg Westlake (Oakville, ON) came up huge for the Canadians, combining for five points. Bowden and Bridges each had a goal and an assist, while Westlake picked up one helper.

After more than two-and-a-half periods of scoreless hockey, Bowden finally broke through for the Canadians, beating American goaltender Steve Cash with just over five minutes remaining. Bridges picked up the lone assist on the opening goal

Bowden returned the favour with a little over a minute remaining, setting up Bridges for the insurance goal. Westlake picked up the second assist.

Canada outshot the Americans 14-10 overall, including 4-0 in the decisive third period – the second consecutive game the Canadians held their opponents without a shot in the final frame.

Canada and the USA will next meet at the inaugural World Sledge Hockey Challenge, set for Kelowna, BC from March 13-17. Germany and Norway will also compete at the four-team event.
