It was a two-team race atop the Ligue de hockey junior du Québec, and when all was said and done, absolutely nothing separated Collège Français de Longueuil and the Montagnards de Sainte-Agathe; the teams finished with identical 44-8-3 records. It was Longueuil, though, that earned the LHJQ regular-season championship thanks to a better goal differential (+174, compared to +141 for Sainte-Agathe). Longueuil did it with defence, allowing just 150 goals in 55 games, one of just two teams to keep its total under 200 (Terrebonne had 192). The goaltending tandem of Vincent Gervais and Stefano Cantali shared the duties between the pipes; they both finished in the top five in wins, goals-against average, and save percentage, and Gervais’ three shutouts were good for second. Up front, Alexis Guilbault and his 92 points (seventh in LHJQ scoring) paced the No. 2 offence in the league, which scored 324 goals, trailing only Sainte-Agathe (351). Collège Français spread out the scoring; six players reached the 50-point plateau, and eight averaged more than a point per game.
