LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Canada’s National Women’s Team swept the second leg of the Rivalry Series after a 3-2 overtime win over the United States Monday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

• Danielle Serdachny (Edmonton, Alta./Colgate University, ECAC) scored the game-winner, her first international goal with Canada’s National Women’s Team, 2:16 into overtime.
• Sarah Fillier (Georgetown, Ont./Princeton University, ECAC) and Laura Stacey (Kleinburg, Ont./PWHPA) scored in the second period.
• Marie-Philip Poulin (Beauceville, Que./PWHPA) recorded an assist on Fillier’s goal, the 199th point of her international career.
• Emily Clark (Saskatoon, Sk./PWHPA), Brianne Jenner (Oakville, Ont./PWHPA) and Ella Shelton (Ingersoll, Ont./PWHPA) added an assist each.
• Emerance Maschmeyer (Bruderheim, Alta.) stopped 32 of the 34 shots she faced.
• The U.S. outshot Canada 34-28.

The Rivalry Series returns north of the border in February for the final two games. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

If we do that we should be in a good spot.”

“I think it’s the best Christmas present we all could have asked for. 2022 has been a pretty special year for us and to end the year winning these two games, in the U.S., after being down by three [games], you couldn’t write a better story. We knew we had work to do, and we really wanted it. We just wanted to do whatever we had to in order to turn the tide and that’s what we did. We showed up here a little earlier, we put our heads down, went to work and adjusted a few things, but in general we stuck to our game and our details and we had fun doing it and that was the difference.”
