TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – OAKVILLE RANGERS
The Rangers were the class of the SCTA in 2012-13, cruising to the regular season championship with a 17-point lead over second-place Halton. Oakville was helped by a pair of winning streaks that reached double digits – it won its first 10 games (and was unbeaten in its first 11) and strung together 14 consecutive Ws from Nov. 28 to Jan. 13. Not surprisingly, the Rangers were far and away the best offensive and defensive team in the SCTA; their 223 goals were 79 better than Halton, and the 69 goals they allowed were 27 fewer than Grey-Bruce. Oakville will look to continue an impressive streak at the SCTA tournament – it has earned one of the two berths in the OMHA championship for each of the last six years, and made back-to-back-to-back trips to the Central Regional in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
