TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – ST. JOHN’S PRIVATEERS
New name, same result for the St. John’s Privateers. After winning the Newfoundland & Labrador championship and Atlantic championship en route to the Atlantic Region’s first medal in seven years as the Fog Devils last year in Lévis, Que., the Privateers were once again the class of the Newfoundland & Labrador Major Midget Hockey League, running roughshod over five other teams on their way to a league-best 26-3-0-1 record. It was the offence that did the damage for St. John’s, scoring a remarkable 215 goals in 30 games, while the defence allowed just 45. The Privateers return 10 players from last year’s bronze medal-winning team, led by captain Marcus Power, who picked up NLMMHL MVP honours after a 64-point season.
