ALBERTA GRABS GOLD AFTER ONTARIO LOCKS UP BRONZE

Dana Pretty's first goal of the tournament proved to the deciding goal as Team Alberta won the 2001 Esso Women's National Hockey Championship. Pretty beat Team Quebec goaltender Kim St. Pierre at 14:58 of the second period, providing Team Alberta with a 1-0
victory.

Pretty, a native of Richmond, B.C., picked up a loose puck along the boards and quickly beat St. Pierre high to the glove side. St. Pierre, named the tournament's top goaltender, only allowed the one goal despite facing a total of 36 shots... ┬╗ more
