The Westman Wildcats are the first ever national female Midget champions after Jenna-Marie Durnin scored twice to lead the West Region champions to a win over the Sharks in the gold medal game.

EDMONTON 2 – CALGARY 3
BRONZE | SAT. APR. 25

Shawna Griffin scored with 7:12 to go as the host Flyers took home bronze with a win over their provincial rivals. Sadie Lenstra and Ferran Brown also scored for Calgary, who outshot the Thunder 42-26.

Annie Shapero scored twice in the crucial third period as the Sharks shocked the previously unbeaten Flyers to advance to Saturday’s gold medal game, winning their third in a row.

 

EDMONTON 2 – WESTMAN 3
SEMI-FINAL | FRI. APR. 24

Jenna-Marie Durnin’s power play goal just past the midway point of the third period was the game-winner as the Wildcats advanced to play for gold with a win over the Thunder.

Kaitlin Keon scored once and added an assist as the Sharks surprised the Wildcats and won their second in a row. They’ll face the host Calgary Flyers in semifinal action on Friday.

NORTHERN 0 - EDMONTON 5 | ROUND ROBIN | THU. APR. 23
Brittany Esposito had three goals and an assist and Morgan Glover turned aside all 21 shots for the shutout she faced as the Thunder wrapped up third place by blanking the Stars.

CALGARY 6 – WESTMAN 3 | ROUND ROBIN | WED. APR. 22
Emily Harrison and Brittany Styner scored two goals apiece as the Flyers wrapped up first place in the round robin after doubling up the previously-unbeaten Wildcats on home ice.

Annie Shapero, Gillian Beggs and Megan Wickens had a goal and an assist apiece as the Ontario champions finally broke into the win column

Brittany Styner scored twice and the Flyers jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in the second period before holding off a late rally by their provincial rivals to stay perfect at 3-0.

WESTMAN 6 - NORTHERN 0 | ROUND ROBIN | TUE. APR. 21
Jenna-Marie Durnin scored twice and Darby Peaslee turned aside all 14 shots she faced to record the shutout in her Esso Cup debut as the Wildcats moved to 2-0.

NORTHERN 1 – CALGARY 6 | ROUND ROBIN | MON. APR. 20
Six different players scored goals and Calgary racked up 43 shots on goal in the opening two periods as it rolled to its second win in as many tries, this time over the Atlantic champions.

EDMONTON 5 – SCARBOROUGH 1 | ROUND ROBIN | MON. APR. 20
Brittany Esposito turned the Esso Cup into the Espo Cup on Monday afternoon, scoring one goal and adding three assists to lead the Thunder to a 5-1 victory over the Ontario champs.

WESTMAN 3 – EDMONTON 1 | ROUND ROBIN | SUN. APR. 19
Kiara De Kezel scored the winner early in the second period as Westman recorded the first win in the history of the National Female Midget Championship with a victory over the Thunder.

SCARBOROUGH 0 – CALGARY 6 | ROUND ROBIN | SUN. APR. 19
A four-goal first period eruption set the tone early as the Esso Cup host Flyers skated to a dominating 6-0 win over  Scarborough in their opening game of the tournament.
