TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – CARLETON PLACE CANADIANS There was no RBC Cup hangover in 2014-15 for the Carleton Place Canadians, who came within 2:40 of winning the national championship last year before losing an overtime heartbreaker to the Yorkton Terriers. With seven players returning – including 2014 RBC CJHL National Player of the Year Andy Sturtz – the Canadians continued their dominance of the CCHL. Carleton Place won its second consecutive regular season title, using the league’s No. 1 offence and No. 1 defence to top the Ottawa Jr. Senators by eight points. The Canadians posted the CCHL’s longest winning streak of the season, going on a 10-game run from Oct. 13 to Nov. 9, and had matching nine-game streaks at home and on the road. Offensively it was Sturtz who led the way again. The 2013-14 CCHL scoring champion finished in a tie for fifth this year with 72 points, and captain Stephen Baylis was right behind with 69, good for a tie for 10th. Between the pipes, Guillaume Therien and Adrian Clark shared the load, with Clark leading the way in goals-against average (1.98) and Clark tops in save percentage (.924), both slightly ahead of the other in those categories.
