TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – AJAX/PICKERING RAIDERS
Ajax/Pickering was the class of the ETA this season, finishing three points up on South Central and Markham despite playing one game less than its competition. They key for the Raiders? That’s simple – they haven’t lost a game in three months. Unbelievably, all three of their losses came in the first seven games of the season, during a four-game winless streak from Oct. 19-24. Since a 2-0 loss to Markham on Oct. 24, Ajax/Pickering has reeled off 21 wins and three ties, and won each and every one of its last 14 games. The Raiders outscored teams by a whopping 107 goals, leading the ETA in goals scored (162) and fewest goals allowed (55) – both marks were double digits ahead of the next best team. Andrew Hughes paced the offence with 44 points, good for fourth in the league, while Paul Giusti and Conor McCallum split the goaltending duties, posting 12 wins apiece.
