TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – KINGSTON VOYAGEURS
For the first time since their OJAHL championship in 2009-10, the Voyageurs finished the regular season atop the standings, edging out the Aurora Tigers by just two points for the North East Conference and OJHL titles. Kingston didn’t top the league in any major team category (power play – seventh; penalty kill – 16th; goals for – fifth; goals against – third), but they were the OJHL’s best team on home ice, winning 22 of 27 games at the Invista Centre, including its last 10 in a row, the league’s longest home-ice winning streak of the season. The Voyageurs spread around the scoring with just three players in the top 20 of OJHL scoring, led by Alex Tonge (sixth with 72 points), but four players averaged at least a point a game, and eight reached double-digits in goals. Alex Brooks-Potts saw the majority of the minutes in the Kingston goal, finishing in the top five in wins (tied for second, 26), goals-against average (fifth, 2.54) and save percentage (tied for fourth, .923).
