TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – METRO BOSTON PIZZA
Metro Boston Pizza opened its 2013-14 schedule with seven straight wins, allowing only one goal in its first 420 minutes of hockey. It was a forerunner of what the team would do the rest of the way. Goalies Katherine Purchase and Josée Thibeau each had five shutouts sharing time in net. Only 10 shots beat Purchase all season; Thibeau, 11. Both had a goals-against average lower than one. Jenna Pellerin and Annie MacDonald led the team – and the league – in goals and points, respectively, and six players found the net at least half a dozen times each. Collectively, Metro scored 36 more goals than second place East Hants and ceded 25 fewer goals than the Penguins.
