TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – PEMBINA VALLEY HAWKS
Thanks to an undefeated first three months of the season, the Pembina Valley Hawks were able to overcome a 4-5-1 finish – and strong closes from the Winnipeg Avros and Westman Wildcats – to claim the MFMHL regular season title in a tight three-team race. The Hawks finished fourth in team scoring and had only one player finish among the top 15 point-getters (forward Lauryn Keen, with 34 points). Instead, the team relied on a balanced offensive attack that saw defenceman Kate Friesen and forward Ginny Grenier also produce at a point per game pace. Defensively, the team also finished middle of the pack, but the solid goaltending trio of Taylor Reimer, Emma Greenwood and Corinne Schroeder did surrender fewer than two goals a game; Reimer led the way with a 8-4-2 record a goals-against average of 1.56.
