PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Canada’s National Men’s Team will play for the gold medal at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship after a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic in the semifinals on Saturday.

Canada will meet Russia in the gold medal game on Sunday. The game can be seen live on TSN and RDS, the official broadcasters of Hockey Canada, at 2:45 p.m. ET/11:45 a.m. PT (Check local listings for broadcast times).

The Czech Republic and the United States will face off in the bronze medal game, live on TSN and RDS at 10:15 a.m. ET/7:15 a.m. PT.

Sunday’s game will mark the third time Canada and Russia will meet in a gold medal game at the world championship; the Russians have won both previous meetings, in 2008 and 2009. Overall, Canada has won seven of 15 all-time meetings with the Russians at the tournament.

On Saturday, Taylor Hall (Kingston, Ont./Edmonton, NHL) opened the scoring off a feed from Jordan Eberle (Regina, Sask./Edmonton, NHL) midway through the first period, Jason Spezza (Toronto, Ont./Dallas, NHL) added insurance late in the second and Mike Smith (Kingston, Ont./Arizona, NHL) made 23 saves for his second consecutive shutout as Canada advanced to the gold medal game at the world championship for the first time since 2009.

Canada finished atop Group A with a perfect 7-0 record in the preliminary round, including wins over Latvia (6-1), Germany (10-0), the Czech Republic (6-3), Sweden (6-4), France (4-3), Switzerland (7-2) and Austria (10-1), and beat Belarus in 9-0 in its quarter-final on Thursday.

Russia finished third in Group B with a 5-1-1-1 record in the preliminary round, beating Sweden 5-3 in the quarter-finals and the United States 4-0 in the semifinals.
