TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – WESTMAN WILDCATS
The Pembina Valley Hawks are the Esso Cup hosts and got most of the attention in the MFMHL this season, but it was the Westman Wildcats who topped the regular-season standings thanks in large part to a season-ending 18-game winning streak – a 2-1 loss to the Yellowhead Chiefs on Nov. 23 was the last blemish on their record. Westman captain Ashton Bell – who also wore the ‘C’ with Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team, shredded the competition for a league-leading 35 goals and 53 points in just 22 games, while goaltender Jenna Marshall was a perfect 13-0 while posting a 1.38 goals-against average that ranked second in the MFMHL.
