2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship recruiting candidates for key volunteer positions

KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship host committee, announced Friday that volunteers are now being recruited for the event, taking place March 28-April 4, 2016 at ISC Arena and the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre in Kamloops.

The 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship will require 500 dedicated volunteer in areas such as hospitality, logistics, media, special events, sponsorship, team services, ticket sales and venue operations.

Those interested in volunteering at the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship must:

  • represent the best interests of Hockey Canada;
  • be a minimum of 19 years of age on Jan. 1, 2016;
  • make a total commitment of four work shifts;
  • attend training sessions in advance of the event; and
  • complete established screening requirements.

In return, volunteers will receive event apparel to wear on site and have the chance to be both an integral part of this world-class event’s success, and ambassadors for Canadian hockey.
