CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada announced Wednesday that there are no more tickets available for Friday night’s final match-up of the NWT Midget Series, presented by the Government of Alberta, when the National Women’s Team faces off against the Calgary Flames of the Alberta Midget Hockey League at 7:30 p.m. MT.

The game will be the last for Canada’s National Women’s Team in Calgary before it heads to Vancouver, B.C. to go for gold at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Hockey fans who haven’t purchased a ticket to Friday’s game still have a chance to catch Canada in action before the Olympics, as tickets for Wednesday night’s game against the Calgary Royals of the AMHL are still available at the door for $5 each. Tickets for children age seven to 12 cost $2 each and children under six years old are admitted for free. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. MT at Father David Bauer Olympic Arena, home of Canada’s national teams.

Fans can catch both of this week’s NWT Midget Series games live via webcast through FASTHockey at hockeycanada.fasthockey.com .

Canada’s National Women’s Team has been training out of Calgary since early August and by the end of this week will have played 30 games against Midget AAA teams in preparation for the Olympics, including the four-game Icebreaker Tournament won by Canada in September and the 26-game NWT Midget Series. Canada’s record stands at 15-9 going into its final two games of the series.

Fans are asked to wear red to the last NWT Midget Series game on January 29 against the Flames, both to cheer on Team Canada and to support Canadian troops on Red Friday. The Canadian military will play an important role in Friday’s festivities, with a female veteran who served in Afghanistan set to drop the puck and an all-female flag party also taking part in pre-game ceremonies.

All those in attendance at Friday’s Military Appreciation Night will have the chance to win a game-worn National Women’s Team jersey in Hockey Canada’s Jersey Off Their Backs promotion. Twenty-one lucky names will be drawn during the game.

NOTE TO MEDIA: Friday’s open ice time and pre-game skate at Father David Bauer Olympic Arena have been cancelled. Players and coaches are available following Thursday’s practice, which ends at 11:30 a.m. MT, and after both games this week.
