PRINCE GEORGE – The hottest hockey ticket in town is going on sale to the public tomorrow.  The host committee of the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup says they are excited to kick off the official launch for tickets on March 1.

“Tickets to the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup will be a hot commodity, so we hope everyone gets their tickets early,” says Host Committee Co Chair Dan Rogers.  “We have developed a range of ticket packages to suit every fan’s taste and budget,” says Rogers.

Packages start at $160, with a limited number of premium packages available for $385 which includes VIP access, parking and tickets to special events including the awards banquet.

Host Committee Co Chair Don Kehler says tickets packages have been available since January to those people who supported the bid with a $10 deposit and Spruce King Season Ticket holders.  “We wanted to do something special for those fans that supported this bid from day one, so we made ticket packages available to them exclusively until March 1,” says Kehler.

According to Kehler, close to 300 ticket packages have already been sold.

“The Prince George RBC Royal Bank Cup Committee has progressed very well against their initial plans.  Today’s announcement demonstrates the work and strength of the host committee and the continued interest in this event shown by the community of Prince George.” stated Scott Smith, Senior Vice President Operations, Hockey Canada.

Tickets are available by contacting Ticketmaster at (250)614-9100 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca

The 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup National Junior A Hockey Championship will take place May 5-13, 2007 in Prince George.  It is expected to draw hockey fans from across the country, with the final game televised live on TSN.  The impact of this event for the local economy is estimated to be close to $1 million.
