WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – The 2007 IIHF World Women's Hockey Championship, scheduled to take place in Winnipeg and Selkirk from April 3rd – 10th, 2007, announced today that its first two event mini packs are now on sale, coinciding with the holiday season as a great gift option for hockey fans.

The ‘All-Canadian 6 Pack’ upper bowl packages, which start at $79.99, are now on sale, featuring all four of Team Canada’s round-robin games, as well as the bronze and gold medal games.

The ‘Selkirk Gold’ package is also now on sale for $79.00, featuring all three Selkirk round robin games, a Canada versus Finland exhibition game scheduled for March 31st at the Selkirk Recreational Complex, as well as a Gold section seat at the gold medal game in Winnipeg on April 10th.  The Canada versus Finland exhibition game in Selkirk will be the only pre-tournament game that Canada will be playing prior to the World Championship.

Full-event tournament packages (14-game and 17-game) are also currently on sale.

Tickets for the 2007 IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (204)780-3333, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.ca/iihf.

The IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship in Winnipeg and Selkirk, MB will mark the fifth time that this international event has been staged in Canada and the first time it will be held in Manitoba.

Canada also hosted the IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship in 2004 (Halifax, NS), 2000 (Mississauga, ON), 1997 (Kitchener, ON) and 1990 (Ottawa, ON). In 2006, there was no IIHF World Championship for women’s hockey in lieu of the Olympic Winter Games. Canada has won a gold medal at eight of the nine IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championships, the exception being a silver medal at the 2005 IIHF World Women’s Championship in Linkoping, SWE after losing to the USA in a shoot out.
