GRAND FORKS, ND – Team Canada game worn hockey jerseys, gloves and helmets from the 2005 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, as well as other Team Canada items, are now up for bid on eBay Canada and www.hockeycanada.ca, with proceeds from the auction going to both the Canadian Hockey Foundation and south Asian relief efforts, Hockey Canada announced on Sunday.

Over $40,000 was raised from a similar auction by Hockey Canada from last year’s World Junior Championship.

"Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the disaster in south Asia," said Allan Matthews, Chair of the Board for Hockey Canada.  “We are glad to assist in these relief efforts through this auction.”

An outpouring of generosity has seen Canadians give more than $32 million to south Asian relief funds to date.

The Canadian Hockey Foundation provides a new source of secure, sustainable, long term funding to support the future development and delivery of Hockey Canada programs, projects, and activities.
