Ottawa to Host Team Canada's Training Camp for World Cup of Hockey 2004 "International Hockey Series"
OTTAWA – Ottawa, ON will be the site for Team Canada’s training camp for the World Cup of Hockey 2004 and Ottawa’s Corel Centre will host three exhibition games (the ‘Team Canada International Series’), which includes two of Team Canada’s exhibition games on August 25 and August 28 and the Russia vs. Slovakia game on August 29.
Team Canada’s training camp will open on August 20th at the University of Ottawa, where the team will train for three days and then relocate to the Corel Centre. Canada will play their first game of the World Cup of Hockey 2004 on August 31 versus Team USA at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Three game ticket packages for the ‘Team Canada International Series’ at the Corel Centre will go on sale to the general public on Monday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. (ET). Three game ticket packages start at $105 (plus applicable taxes and service charges).

The World Cup of Hockey 2004 will feature eight teams in competition taking place on two continents from Aug. 30 - Sept. 14, with the single-game championship being played at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
The North American Pool will include Canada, Russia, Slovakia and the defending champion United States, while the European Pool includes the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany and Sweden. Teams will participate in round-robin play within their pool. All teams then advance to the single game-elimination quarterfinal round, with winners advancing to the semifinals and then the championship game.
World Cup of Hockey games will be played at four European and three North American venues. Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland will host games Aug. 30 and Sept. 4. Games will be played at Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden Aug. 31 and Sept. 1; Cologne Arena in Cologne, Germany on Sept. 2; and Sazka Arena in Prague, Czech Republic on Sept. 3. European quarterfinal games will be played at the home venue of the top two European finishers in round-robin play.
