CALGARY, AB - Team Canada's National Women's Under 22 Head Coach Karen Hughes announced Sunday, the roster of 23 players that will represent Canada in a three-game series vs. USA in Lake Placid, USA, August 21-24 at the Olympic Center.

After a week-long NIKE Under 22 women's hockey development camp at the Beatrice Ice Gardens in Toronto, Ontario, Hughes along with assistant coaches Terry Matheson and Laura Solberg selected the top 23 players to travel to Lake Placid to play against their Under 22 arch-rivals from USA. A total of 29 players attended the NIKE Under 22 development camp.

"The NIKE Under 22 development camp this week was one of the best I have seen, which shows how far the female game has come over the past few years," said Hughes. "We are confident that we have a good mixture of talented players going to Lake Placid that will represent their country."

Of the 23 players that were selected, four players have spent time with Canada's National Women's Team. Under 22 veterans and 2002 Winter Olympic gold medallists Cherie Piper and Charline Labonté will both be heading to Lake Placid as will Gina Kingsbury and Gillian Apps, who have both represented Canada on the National Women's team.
