(Saint John, NB) -  Luc Bourdon of Lamèque, New Brunswick won a Silver Medal with Canada's National Under 18 Team at the 2005 IIHF Under 18 World Championships which wrapped up Sunday in the Czech Republic.  Bourdon was also named the Top Defencemen at the International Event.

Bourdon, the only Atlantic Canadian on the Canadian Team, was a pillar of strength on the Canadian Blueline throughout the Championship.  Seeing action in all situations, Bourdon certainly showed why he was selected to the team and why he has been ranked as the 4th overall skater in North Amercia by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau.

Bourdon, a member of the Val D'Or Foreurs of the QMJHL, has experienced success at the International Level on past occassions.  He was a member of the National Under 18 Team which competed at the Under 18 World Cup last summer and won a gold medal by defeating the Czech Republic in the final game by a score of 4-1.  Bourdon was also a member of Team Atlantic at the 2004 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge.

This past season, Bourdon was named to Team QMJHL which played in an exhibition series against the Russian All-Stars.
