OTTAWA, ON – Team Canada now has three days of practices under their belts as they prepare to lace up for their first exhibition game tomorrow versus the US in Columbus, Ohio.

The tempo at practices have been fast paced as players are still trying to prove to management that they deserve a spot in the line-up. “We are still evaluating as far as which players are going to play together, and where we can best utilize their abilities,” said Head Coach Pat Quinn. Unlike the Olympics, each team is allowed to carry 26 players on the roster, but only 20 will dress each night.

The players have been skating in one hour ice sessions in the morning at the University of Ottawa, followed by off-ice circuit training. Everyone is working towards getting back into game shape. “After three days of skating, the guys are starting to gel with their line-mates and getting our legs moving at game speed,” remarked team assistant captain Adam Foote.

Yesterday (Saturday), the players where able to unwind as they enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the golf course. But is it back to business today as the team has its last practice before leaving for Columbus tomorrow. The group will break up and play a Red vs. White intrasquad game on Tuesday before facing the US on Wednesday at the Corel Centre.
