Sherwood Park, (Alberta) The Host Committee for the 2004 Esso Women’s National Hockey Championship is looking for volunteers to help showcase this premier hockey event, which takes place March 10-14, 2004 in Sherwood Park.

"We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities available and have openings for many positions," said Shelley Tobo-Gaudreau Co Chair of the Host Committee. "We need approximately 35 volunteers per game and we have 29 games happening during the championship."

There are a number of different areas that are in need of volunteer help, including: Hosts, Drivers, Off Ice Officials, Ticket Sales, Ceremonies and Hospitality. Volunteers are needed at various times during the event, both day and night, making it easy to fit assistance with the championship into most people’s schedules. In addition to meeting new people, giving back to the community and learning new skills, volunteers are entitled to attend games scheduled outside of their volunteer shifts.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Esso Women’s Nationals, please visit the Sherwood Park Minor Hockey website at www.spmha.ab.ca and follow the links to the registration form. Alternatively you can phone the Information and Volunteer Centre for Strathcona County 464-4242 and request a faxed copy of the registration form, or fill out the registration form at the Centre.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to be a part of the best female hockey in Canada, right in our own back yard. Help Bring on the Best to Sherwood Park.
