Team Canada's road to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah began with a 10-0 victory over Team Sweden at the Victoria Memorial Arena in Victoria, BC.

After a slow first period, Canada rebounded, scoring four goals in just over five minutes in the second period to take a commanding 5-0 lead.

Leading the way for Canada were Nancy Drolet with two goals and two assists and Danielle Goyette who also scored two goals and added an assist. Drolet was named Canada's player of the game and Sweden's goaltender, Lotta Gothesson took the honors for the visitors.

British Columbia native Danielle Dube picked up the shutout for Canada, stopping all ten shots she faced.

Canada will continue their tour in British Columbia vs. Sweden on Friday in Campbell River, BC and will conclude the tour with a game against Sweden on Saturday night in Port Alberni.
