How can you ensure someone is in Alberta while purchasing?

The website uses geo-fencing technology to ensure you are in the province. If you are in Alberta but being blocked, the IP from your mobile device may be providing an out-of-province address, which would block you from purchasing. You can try clearing your data on your mobile browser and try again. If the device is still being blocked using the cellular network, we suggest connecting to WiFi and trying to access the site again.

What time will the tickets be available?

Draws open at 9 a.m. MT and close at 10 p.m. MT the same day. The draw will take place at approximately 10:15 p.m. MT at the Hockey Canada office within Rogers Place using random number generation (RNG).

Where do I purchase?

Through the Hockey Canada website at www.hockeycanada.ca/5050.

How do I find the winning ticket number?

The winning ticket number will be posted on the Hockey Canada website (www.hockeycanada.ca/5050) no later than 11:59 p.m. MT the day of the draw.

How do I pay for my tickets?

When you purchase online you must use a credit card; Visa, Mastercard and Visa Debit are accepted.

How do I receive my tickets?

You will receive an email confirmation with your tickets following your payment. Your email address must be entered correctly with no errors when purchasing to ensure you receive your tickets.

When will I receive my tickets?

Please note that due to high sales volume, it can take up to 24 hours to receive your tickets via email. Ticket purchasers are required to enter their email address correctly with no errors when purchasing to ensure they receive their tickets, and should check their spam and junk mail folders if they have not received their tickets by 9 a.m. MT the day after the draw.

If you received a confirmation number at the end of your purchase, please know that your tickets have been entered into the draw and this delay will not impact your participation in the draw.

If you have not received your tickets by 9 a.m. MT the day following the draw, you can email [email protected] before 12 p.m. MT the day following the draw to request that your tickets be resent. Resend requests received after 12 p.m. MT the day following the draw will not be processed. You must email from the same email you purchased tickets with. Tickets will be resent between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. MT the day following the draw. You will not receive a response unless it is after 9 a.m. MT the day following the draw. Please note that even if you have not received your tickets at the time of the draw, you are still entered in the draw and can be contacted by the Hockey Alberta Foundation should you have the winning ticket. Tickets are placed into the draw immediately after purchasing.

I received an error message (“Order not fulfilled. You will not be charged.”) but I see a charge on my credit card.

The charge you are seeing is a pre-authorization charge only. This charge should go away within five business days. Visa Debit cards treat the pre-authorization like a charge and will refund the funds back to your account within five business days. If the charge does not go away within five business days, please email us at [email protected].

Am I able to get a refund?

All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds issued to anyone for any reason. All tickets purchased and entered into the draw cannot be refunded, including if ticket purchasers made an error in selecting the number of tickets they wished to purchase.

What happens if I win?

Congratulations! The holder of the winning ticket will have 48 hours from the time of the announcement of the winning ticket number to present the winning ticket. You can contact the Hockey Alberta Foundation by e-mailing [email protected]. PLEASE PUT ‘PRIZE WINNER’ IN THE SUBJECT LINE. You will need to forward an electronic copy of your winning ticket, with an electronic copy of a piece of government-issued photo ID as well a copy of your purchase email. The winner will be required to sign a Declaration and Release which must be executed and returned to the Hockey Alberta Foundation no later than five business days after you present the winning ticket. The prize will be distributed within 30 days.

Will you publicize my name if I win?

Yes, the winner’s name will be publicized on the list of prize winners at www.hockeycanada.ca/5050, as well as on event social media channels.

Can I gift my ticket?

Tickets are non-transferrable and non-refundable. The prize will be awarded to the individual whose name appears as purchasing the ticket.

Where does the other 50% of the jackpot go?

Gross sales from the 50/50 program are split between the winner and the Hockey Alberta Foundation. The Hockey Alberta Foundation in turn reinvests the net proceeds into programs it supports. The Hockey Alberta Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life of Albertans through hockey with a vision to support the hockey community in Alberta by celebrating those before them, investing in those who lead them and contributing to those who need them.

What happens if the pot goes unclaimed?

The holder of the winning ticket will have 48 hours from the time of the announcement of the winning ticket. If the ticket holder does not come forward by that time, the pot of that day can be added to one of or spread across the remaining draws.

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold.

What currency do I get paid in?

All transactions and winnings are paid in Canadian dollars. Prizes will be paid by cheque, payable to the winner.

Someone in my family works for Hockey Canada/Hockey Alberta Foundation/Ascend Fundraising Solutions, can I still buy tickets?

No. Employees of Ascend Fundraising Solutions, the Hockey Alberta Foundation, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Canada, the Hockey Canada Foundation, Oilers Entertainment Group, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, WIN50, the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, the Red Deer Rebels Foundation and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), and members of their immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband or wife, who reside in the same household) are NOT eligible to participate in the draw.
