PRINCE GEORGE – When Prince George hosts the nation at the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup, it will be with the full support of Prince George’s number one realty company.

“Today, we are delighted to welcome RE/MAX Centre City Realty as a platinum level sponsor for the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup in Prince George,” says Don Kehler, Co Chair of the Host Committee. “With the support of RE/MAX Centre City Realty and their team of 50 professional realtors, we are one step closer to hosting the best ever RBC Royal Bank Cup,” Kehler adds.

Gerry Thiessen, Managing Broker for RE/MAX Centre City Realty says the team of professional realtors at RE/MAX are proud to support the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup. “RE/MAX Realtors believe in our community, and for that reason we are proud to support this major national event to be hosted right here in Prince George,” says Thiessen.

Host Committee Co Chair Dan Rogers says the committee is excited to welcome RE/MAX to the growing list of sponsors for the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup, and expects to have more announcements in the near future. “Northern BC is passionate about hockey and we have found a number of community-minded organizations that are excited about aligning themselves with this great national championship,” says Rogers.

The RE/MAX partnership was announced today as the host committee unveiled street banners which will be hung along 15th Avenue to promote the 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup and the event sponsors.

With the RBC Royal Bank Cup less than six months away, the committee is working hard to ensure the 2007 event is the best ever in the event’s history. “We are in the process of building our volunteer committees and going through the planning that hosting this type of major event requires,” says Rogers. “We are confident that we will achieve our mission of hosting the best ever RBC Royal Bank Cup.”

The 2007 RBC Royal Bank Cup National Junior A Hockey Championship will take place May 5-13, 2007 in Prince George. It is expected to draw hockey fans from across the country, with the final game televised live on TSN. The impact of this event for the local economy is estimated to be close to $1.5 million.
