TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – ÉLITES DE JONQUIÈRE

The Élites de Jonquière led the Ligue de hockey midget AAA du Québec with an eight-point cushion over their nearest rivals. Jonquière was nearly unbeatable on home ice, posting a 20-2-2 record when playing in front of its fans. The Élites also had a 12-game winning streak from Nov. 1 to Dec. 13. Despite having the seventh-ranked offence, with 155 goals, Jonquière made its way to the top of the standings because of its outstanding defence, allowing a league-low 120 goals against. A well-balanced attack meant the Élites only had Jean-Simon Bélanger (54 points, sixth) and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (52 points, ninth) among the LHMAAAQ’s top scorers, but rookie Olivier Rodrigue led most goaltenders in a handful of categories thanks to his 18 wins (third), .923 save percentage (second), 2.29 goals-against average (second) and four shutouts (tied for first).
