TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – MONCTON FLYERS After a one-year hiatus the Moncton Flyers reclaimed their spot at the top of the NBPEIMMHL, finishing in first place for the fifth time in the last six seasons by putting 14 points between themselves and second-place Saint John. Sitting at 4-2-1 on Oct. 15 after back-to-back losses to Kensington and Saint John, the Flyers would run off 17 consecutive wins through Jan. 7, before posting 10 straight Ws to finish the regular season. Moncton netted a league-leading 159 goals (34 more than anyone else), so it wasn’t too surprising to see four Flyers occupy the top four spots in the NBPEIMMHL scoring race, led by Michael Joseph and his 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists). On the back end, Moncton allowed a league-low 72 goals, with netminders Daniel Thompson (16-1-1, 1.97 GAA, .916 SV%) and Brandon McKenna (15-2-0, 2.02 GAA, .913 SV%) finishing one-two in most major categories.
